After wasting far too much time (and signing up for several scammy platforms), I decided to document my own experiences and help others avoid the same traps.

That’s how Legit Side Hustle was born.

I started with surveys as they’re accessible, require no special skills or investment, and a great way to learn the online earning space. Over time, I expanded to other earning opportunities, eventually growing into seven main categories:

My Journey & Approach

I test and review every platform personally, covering how they pay, the requirements, the learning curve, and whether they’re worth your time. If something changes, I update it; if it’s unreliable, I remove it.

With over two years of consistent testing, I have built experience across multiple platforms, surveys, research studies, and product testing programs.

Having a repeatable study on Prolific for two hours and earning £300
Taking part in a product testing study for 5 different golden syrups
Having a group debate over the usage of smart motorways
Having a successful week on UserTesting getting accepted for 15 tests earning $150

Early on, I tried low end survey apps and rushed through them, which got me banned
Didn't add a UserTesting interview to my calendar and missed it, getting a bad review
Booked a holiday when a product testing package was meant to be delivered and was unable to do that study
My first Prolific study was rejected. After 993 approved submissions, that one rejection serves as a reminder of how far I’ve come
